The Strand Theater Initiative would like to thank Jo Anne Heen for volunteering to act as our Judge for the Creative Writing Contest.    Jo Anne is a skilled and imaginative writer who provides a unique perspective whether  it's creative content for a Web site, magazine, newsletter, or sales catalog.  For Jo Anne, the perfect job is researching and writing exciting and informative feature articles, stating "I want people to come away from one of my pieces thinking, 'I learned something interesting today.' "

Jo Anne has been the Head Content Writer and Editor for the Web site Festivals.com and produced more than 600 pieces in a 2-year span including daily segments like Greatest Event on Earth as well as Feature Articles and  Book Reviews. She has also written for outside publications such as  Smartpages.com and   Journey, The Magazine of the Seaway Trail. She has Published 73 articles in 20 diverse publications; consisting of interviews, short stories, essays, film, food and music reviews.  She runs her own business, JO ANNE HEEN WRITES and is a Writer for North Hills Monthly Magazine, has written a feature-length screenplay for Paramount Pictures and served as researcher and writer for Book Builders Inc.,   an encyclopedia publisher.  Jo Anne has a BA in Writing & Film Arts from Penn State University and an AA in Broadcast Communications from Keystone College in   La Plume, PA
