Ghost of The Strand Creative Writing Contest Official Rules Students and children that would be in grade 7 through 12 are encouraged to enter the "Ghost of The Strand" creative writing contest. Entries will be judged on creativity, descriptive imagery and proper use of language. Two important features to be judged will be a strong physical description of the ghost and a compelling story. Entry should be 500 words or less and may be typed or handwritten. Neatness counts. Entrants may use the space provided on our online entry form or an official contest flyer available online or at The Strand Theater, located at 119 North Main Street, Zelienople, PA 16063 or submit their own pages. Please include your name, address, and phone number on every page of your entry. All entries must be received by September 19th, 2008 and be accompanied by a $5.00 Entry Fee. Writers may enter as often as they wish, but each individual submission must be accompanied by the entry fee. Checks for the $5 Entry Fee should be made payable to The Strand Theater Initiative. Any submissions without the entry fee will not be considered. Cash accepted only at The Strand Theater location. Do not send cash via mail. Mail entries to: The Strand Theater Initiative, 119 North Main Street, Zelienople, PA 16063 or drop them off at the Strand Theater mail box. One winner from all entries will be selected and receive a Prize Pack including a "Northern Nightmares" T-Shirt and Ball Cap courtesy of The Strand Theater Initiative. Gift Cards and other prizes TBD. The decision of our Volunteer Judge(s) is final. All entries for "The Ghost of The
Strand" writing contest become the
property of The Strand Theater Initiative and will not be returned. The Deadline is 09/19/08!!! |
